Hello! I'm a science journalist & audio producer

I’m a science and environmental journalist and audio producer based in the Midwest. As a freelancer, I've written news and feature stories for National Geographic, Scientific American, Smithsonian, Science, Hakai, Undark and other outlets. I'm also an audio producer and and reporter for NASA’s flagship agency podcast, Curious Universe.

I write a semi-regular Substack newsletter, The Science Reporter's Cut, that pulls back the curtain on science journalism. 

I'm always available for freelance assignments, especially covering  Earth systems science, climate change, and the history and culture of science and its intersection with society.
